Presentations to accident and medical centres continue to increase. Yesterday 183 people presented to a GP and Hawke’s Bay Hospital had 11 people present overnight, two were admitted.
Hawke’s Bay health officials are seeing an increase in Whooping Cough (Pertussis) which poses serious risks for babies and children – especially those aged under 1 years.
There are many reasons people decide to gift their time or money to Hawke’s Bay health. It could be purely and simply a philanthropic gesture.
Accommodation is available on the hospital site for family/whānau and patients who live out of town, at Mihiroa Whare within our Māori Health Service. You can speak with a nurse in the ward, the duty manager, or contact the Māori Health Service to make arrangements or for further information.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Hawke’s Bay District Health Board and Cancer Society of New Zealand- Hawke’s Bay Centre to link up care and support for people with cancer.
The Maternity Resource Centre at 234 Kennedy Rd is a one-stop shop for pregnancy and early parenting needs. It provides pregnancy tests, support to find a midwife, midwifery assessments and clinics, breastfeeding support and pregnancy and parenting information. The Chapel is situated to the left of the main entrance of Hawke's Bay Hospital. The Chapel is open every day from 8am until 5pm. The Chaplains’ offices can be accessed through the Chapel, or from the courtyard outside Zacs Café.
