Hawke’s Bay District Health Board is supporting a worldwide campaign to stamp out viral hepatitis and raise awareness to find an estimated 25,000 New Zealanders who go undiagnosed with Hepatitis C. Hepatitis C is a highly infectious virus that is spread through blood-to-blood contact.
What is it?Hoki ki te Kāinga is a service for people who will benefit from a short period of intensive rehabilitation in their own home after a stay in hospital.

People are being warned not to swim in Waipatiki Lagoon due to contamination. The levels exceed the maximum values recommended in New Zealand’s Recreational Water Guidelines and indicate that, at the time of sampling, there were excessive amounts of faecal matter, either animal or human in the water.
The Maternity Resource Centre at 234 Kennedy Rd is a one-stop shop for pregnancy and early parenting needs. It provides pregnancy tests, support to find a midwife, midwifery assessments and clinics, breastfeeding support and pregnancy and parenting information. Central Hawke’s Bay Health Centre provides a myriad of services to its local community. The health centre offers six inpatient beds and outpatient physiotherapy and occupational therapy clinics, as well as a district nursing service.
Community Mental Health South consists of two teams, one based at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital and another at Central Hawke's Bay Health Centre.
