Water test results from Lake Tūtira have confirmed a cyanobacteria bloom on the lake. Medical Officer of Health Dr Nicholas Jones said as the bloom was visible on the lake and test results had confirmed cyanobacteria, the bloom was likely to be toxic to people and animals.

Three cases of Paratyphoid confirmed
Hawke's Bay District Health Board is investigating three Paratyphoid cases reported over the last week. Paratyphoid is a similar illness to typhoid fever and can cause serious illness. All three people have needed hospital care.

Mobility car parks are available to anyone visiting or working at the hospital who displays a valid mobility parking permit issued by CCS Disability Action. Permit holders are exempt from paid parking. Designated mobility spaces are located near the entrance of all hospital buildings.
