Presentations to accident and medical centres continue to increase. Yesterday 183 people presented to a GP and Hawke’s Bay Hospital had 11 people present overnight, two were admitted.
There was more encouraging news from Hawke’s Bay District Health Board this morning as numbers of people seen by general practice and in hospital with gastro illness continues to decline.

Hawke’s Bay Hospital continues to remain extremely busy with an increase in admissions of people experiencing respiratory illnesses like asthma, pneumonia and bronchitis.
Ten cases of Paratyphoid Fever have now been confirmed by Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, and a number of other cases have been tested with results still pending. The district health board has also identified a link to another Tangi recently held in the bay.
With a Bachelor of Health Science under her belt Paramedic Lindsey Hope is the perfect recruit to the after-hours urgent medical care team for people who live in Napier, Hastings and Havelock North.
