Napier’s disabled community got a boost last week following the reinstatement and upgrade of a pool hoist at Napier Health’s hydrotherapy pool. The hoist was decommissioned in 2012 following a Department of Labour review that determined it was not fit for purpose.
Strict infection control measures are in place in some wards of Hawke’s Bay Hospital to prevent the spread of Norovirus, a highly contagious vomiting and diarrhoea bug. Chief Medical and Dental Officer John Gommans said Norovirus was circulating in the community.
After-hours services offered by general practices are the best place for urgent care for conditions that are not critical or life threatening such as:
