The Medical Day Unit was set up to improve the management of short stay patients who require further treatment and care but do not requrie an inpatient bed.
Meals on Wheels are prepared in the Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital kitchen for delivery - fresh or frozen - to people living in Napier, Hastings or Havelock North. Hot or frozen meals and dessert are $8. 70.
New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO) nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants have voted to strike, significantly impacting services at Hawke’s Bay and Wairoa hospitals and Napier and Central Hawke’s Bay’s medical centres.

Welcome to Wednesday’s Hawke’s Bay District Health Board Update 24 August 2016A total of seven people remain in Hawke’s Bay Hospital with campylobacter, one fewer than yesterday.
Hawke’s Bay District Health Board is very sad to report that a woman in her 90s, who had campylobacter infection, died yesterday evening from an unrelated medical condition. The woman who was from Havelock North was admitted to Hawke’s Bay Hospital during the campylobacter outbreak.
The Maternity Resource Centre at 234 Kennedy Rd is a one-stop shop for pregnancy and early parenting needs. It provides pregnancy tests, support to find a midwife, midwifery assessments and clinics, breastfeeding support and pregnancy and parenting information. Please don’t hesistate to come with your questions or queries.
Ostomy services are offered to people who have, or are expecting to require a stoma (a surgically created opening in the abdomen for evacuation of body waste).
Stomas include: colostomy, ileostomy and urostomy. Ostomy services provide people with information, advice and support before and after surgery.
The Emergency Department or ED is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some of our patients are referred by local doctors, some by ambulance and some arrive in the department without a doctor referral as they believe they have an urgent health care problem.
