Well Child Tamariki Ora providers monitor the wellbeing of your baby/child until they reach five years of age. Your Lead Maternity Carer (LMC) will refer you to the Well Child provider of your choice between four and six weeks after birth.

Community Oral Health Services (COHS) provides free school-based clinics for 0-13 year olds, as well as all the adolescents that attend Wairoa College up to the age of 18. Early pre-school enrolment in COHS helps parents prevent their children having poor dental health.
The orthopaedic team at Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldiers' Memorial Hospital work closely with the Emergency Department (ED), radiology and physiotherapy. Referrals from family doctors, GPs or physiotherapists are prioritised with a maximum four month wait to be seen for specialist assessment (if referral is accepted).
Your family doctor will refer you to the rheumatology service for review of conditions involving the joints, muscles and bones. Your visit may occur at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Hastings, or at Napier Health.
