Welcome to Monday’s Hawke’s Bay District Health Board update August 22Presentations to Hawke’s Bay Hospital’s Emergency Department and to General Practice with people who have a gastro illnesses continues to tail off.
Tears of joy were shed by Hawke’s Bay Hospital’s frontline paediatric staff at the Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal announcement this morning, with the news a special isolation room and dedicated outside space for immune-compromised kids would become a reality.

Hawke’s Bay District Health Board has received strike notice from New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO), advising that nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants covered by their Multi Employment Collective Agreement (MECA) will take strike action for 24 hours from 7am Thursday 5 July until 7am Friday 6 July.
There are no charges for services to public patients if you are lawfully in New Zealand and meet one of the eligibility criteria set by the Ministry of Health.
