The surge of winter illnesses in Hawke’s Bay is impacting the whole of the Hawke’s Bay health system and there is important advice for locals on how to best manage their care.
What we doAudiology is the study of hearing, hearing disorders and assisting people who have hearing loss.
Your family doctor will refer you to the rheumatology service for review of conditions involving the joints, muscles and bones. Your visit may occur at Hawke’s Bay Fallen Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital in Hastings, or at Napier Health.

Members of New Zealand Nurses Organisation are now taking strike action for 24 hours from 7am today until 7am Friday 13 July. What you need to know:Hawke’s Bay Hospital remains very busy, and this is expected to continue through into tomorrow.
Accommodation is available on the hospital site for family/whānau and patients who live out of town, at Mihiroa Whare within our Māori Health Service. You can speak with a nurse in the ward, the duty manager, or contact the Māori Health Service to make arrangements or for further information.

If you are having difficulties with your mental health or an addiction issue and are aged 19 years or under, then you and your family / whānau can be referred to the Child, Adolescent and Family Service Ngā Harakeke mai Rongokako (CAFS).
Swimming warnings remain in place at Wairoa River where an investigation is ongoing by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council and Hawke’s Bay District Health Board into recent high levels of E. coli contamination.
