The goal of the Fracture Liaison Service is to prevent a second fracture in those that have already experienced an initial or “signal” fracture. The service runs under the guidelines set by Osteoporosis NZ, with clinical supervision by specialists in Rheumatology, Endocrinology and the Geriatrician team.
Over $1million will be invested to create nearly 17 new full-time equivalent nursing roles at Hawke’s Bay Hospital, the district health board announced today.
Hawke’s Bay District Health Board has received strike notice from New Zealand Nurses Organisation (NZNO), advising that nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants covered by their Multi Employment Collective Agreement (MECA) will take strike action for 24 hours from 7am Thursday 5 July until 7am Friday 6 July.
