UPDATE Gastro illness in Havelock North Tuesday 5pm 16th AugustThe health system in Hawke’s Bay is coping well with the current outbreak of gastric illness.
Water from the Havelock North town water supply no longer needs to be boiled before drinking. The third clear water test in a row came back today, allowing the boil water notice to be lifted.

Hawke’s Bay Hospital services will be severely impacted with many outpatient clinics and non-emergency surgeries postponed due to next week's planned three-day, 73 hour national strike by junior doctors. Contingency planning is in place to ensure emergency and urgent care services are available at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
